Mandatory use of mask—Fine grain abrasive particles, if inhaled for a longer duration, may cause lung disease.

Protect your ears from noise—AJM operation is very noisy. So usage of hearing protection such as ear muffs, ear plugs, etc. is always recommended.

Protect your body, face and eyes—Abrasive grits and eroded particles may get clotted and sputter out from the machining zone. Though such abrasives are not hot (as in case of chips in conventional machining) but may come out at high velocity. So proper clothing as well as suitable protector for face and eyes must be used.

Closed working chamber with ventilation—Closed working chamber with proper ventilation is required, otherwise atmospheric pollution is likely to occur.

Environment friendly ways for disposal of abrasives—Openly dumped used abrasive can cause land pollution and also atmosphere pollution (caused by high velocity wind flow).
